"Leave mars alone" is an image created to get more attention for a social debate. The social debate I choose is mars, and how people are wanting to start a life on the planet.
My view is : "We should not go to mars, we should leave mars alone."
This image was made by using an AI image creator. For this exact one "DALL-E" was used.
I wanted to show an unaffected planet by having it coverd in platic. Almost like the food in the store. If you open the platic, it will never be the same again. You can never get it back to the unaffected state it was in before
I started by sketching some of my ideas on paper, trying to create as many different iterations as possible. My first idea was to create a more complicated image. I wanted earth leaking in space. From earth a rocket with a skull on it is on it's way to mars.
I soon realised I liked the more simple sketches the best.
From there I just started putting different prompts in a couple of AI image generators. I used DALL-E, Hotpot.ai and neural.love a lot. For my first explorations with AI generators I made a lot of Sci-Fi related pictures related to my statement. A couple prompts I used were : "Houses on mars" "Cleaning earth" and "A pirateship in space". After experimenting with Sci-Fi images I tried to focus more on what I really want to convey with my image. That's when the idea of Mars wrapped in plastic came up. It took a couple of tries and different AI generators to get an image I really loved. After that I tried a couple more different prompt, but I ultimately stuck with the one you can see on my poster right now. Mostly because I felt like it was a very powerfull image, expecially with the black void in the background.
